I was recommended to this mechanic by a local business owner who has been taking his car there for 30 years. He could not say enough good things about this place and it’s owner, Ray. I had my car towed there the other day after my alternator busted. There were a couple of other issues that my Lexus dealer had previously mentioned, and they found those, too. What I really liked about their service is the transparency and professionalism in their communication. They also came up with a creative solution (at no cost) to fix what would have been an outrageously expensive replacement/repair to my driver’s side mirror in one case—showing that they really know what they’re doing, care about their customers, and take pride in their work. The car runs and drives like a dream now. And the icing on the cake is that their rates were much more reasonable than what the dealer had quoted me. Thank you Ray, Ron, and team!

Ron told me that i need some work done on my car to pass the state safety inspection. And he gave me a fair quote and even offered me to test drive the car after the work was completed to ensure the work was satisfactory. This place does great work and has great people as well.

Very quick and efficient annual inspection

I visited the Shell Service station one day to see what their procedure with fixing a flat tire was. I wanted to see if I needed AAA first to put the donut on to drove to the station from 1 block away. They told me bring it in then. I drove with the donut to the station and left the car to be inspected and get an estimate. Two lugs seemed unequal so Bill’s estimate included more in case they needed replacing. (They did not.) The new tire was ordered and just before the car was ready, Bill got my approval of a wheel alignment because it was recommended. The car was ready the same day. Pleasant, thorough, and very accessible. I live only a block away.

We have used this repair shop forever (3 generations in fact) for all our maintenance and emergency repairs. Trust is a rare thing. Highly recommend.

After an attempted ripoff by a dealer I had used for over a decade, I entrusted my Honda minivan to the Shirlington Shell station a few years ago. It is a 2007 and looks it on the outside but runs like it’s brand new. i need it to keep running for four more years at a minimum. Ron at Shell is my main contact but others have been equally helpful and professional. In an urban area, they are a trusted neighbor and give the feel of a beloved small town local business. Before using their repair service, I had a chance to chat with a technician’s grandson who was helping fill tires and whose teacher was a friend of mine. That family atmosphere actually is what made me turn to the station for maintenance work in a moment of crisis. I have never looked back. I have some considerable maintenance and repairs on an old car. Each time it needs work, the problem and estimate are explained in detail and i have been offered photos as have others I know who I have sent there. The process is open and honest. I recommend Shirlington Shell highly!
